    Hello Part 2 study partner,

I have a question in Degree of Financial Leverage. There are two formulae, each giving different options. Do you face the same?
    % EBIT / % Change in Sales
    Contribution margin / EBIT

    Appreciate your thoughts on this.

My understanding is that is the second one which the CMA uses as the right answer

Single period degree of operating leverage = contribution margin/EBIT
Multiple period degree of operating leverage = % change in EBIT/ % change in sales

I believe you will see both as I have practiced many MCQs and essays and have seen it both ways.

    Hi Hari,
I believe that contribution margin/EBIT measures operating leverage in single reporting period, while % change in EBIT/ % change in sales measure period to period.

    Hello There,

------ Issuing the bonds and using the funds to buy back common stock will decrease total equity.......

Can some one explain, why is this?
I am under understanding, "total includes company owned stock and stocks outstanding. When  buy back happens, it will not change total equity".

    Hello,
For Marginal we have to consider ONLY additional capital to already existing one.
Please mention the question number and from which prep course.
