Just wanted to share a very helpful strategy that helped me stay on pace and pass part one in the fall. When you go into the exam, you can use some of the tutorial time to write formulas and any other useful information on your scratch paper. I also found it helpful to jot down this chart to keep myself on pace. By the end of each cluster of 20 questions, check that you are staying on track for the time remaining on your exam countdown clock. This chart gives you 1.5 minutes per question so that you can ensure you not only answer every question before time runs out, but also have time at the end to review any marked questions. It may seem elementary, but when you're in the middle of the exam, you don't want to be spending too much time trying to figure out if you are on pace or not, and this chart for me was a life saver.
Questions Time Remaining
1-20 2:30:00
21-40 2:00:00
41-60 1:30:00
61-80 1:00:00
81-100 0:30:00
Review any marked questions with remaining 30 minutes
