  • 1.  Just took the Exam!

    Hi Everyone, 

    My name is Haytham Al-qudah 

    I took the exam back in January for Part 1, and I just found out that I didn't pass. 

    I'm thinking about retaking the Exam in May, but I really want to avoid the issues that I faced in the previous exam!, 

    for example: My essay questions had a lot of parts, 12 to be exact. and I'm pretty sure that the reason that I didn't pass was not having enough experience on how to deal with the essay questions. even though that I spent the whole hour writing, deep down I had the feeling that I'm not doing it right, so I really want your help to avoid this problem in the next exam.( I scored 300 btw). 

    So, is there any videos or articles to read in order to know the right way in dealing with the essay questions ?

    Hello Haytham

     

    Are you using a review material such as Gleim or Wiley to study?  They should have information regarding the essay part of the exam in addition to practice questions that helped me pass my Part 1.

     

    I know the Review prep courses can be expensive, if you don't have access to any purchased, professional review materials, there is information on the IMA website about the test including tips to studying/testing better.

     

    I had to take Part 1 a second time, and passed on my second attempt(I utilized the Wiley exam prep)  I think you are right to exercise caution.  Make sure you are ready for the exam and that you can allot yourself the necessary time to study and pass, before taking another exam.

    CMA exam support package has good range of  essay questions with answers. It gives me good preparation
    Also,  IMA has webinar recordings on tips for essay questions.
    I hope both of these help..

    Hello Hari,

    Congratulations to your recent success!!

    I am new to CMA and IMA - however 12 years in F&A. I live in Canada and there is no support for US CMA. 
    Could you please guide me what exam support package are available for a member or whats out in the market.
    Is there an online support/classes available ? How much would it cost?
